Fall in love
with being a
Game Wizard

We are expanding our reach in 2026, and we need reliable, fun, personable GMs to do it. If you think you have what it takes to offer a quality game experience to paying customers, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for people in the Edmonton area who are:

- Easy to be around, and fun

- Experienced in running TTRPGs (mostly D&D, but other game systems are a plus)

- Are reliable, and have a reliable means of transportation

- Understand that TTRPGs are about having a fun time, building connections and community with fellow geeks

- Can pass a criminal background check

- 18 years or older (sorry to our younger GMs, many of our games are played in places that serve alcohol)

What does being a Wizard look like?

Great question, lets see...

Wizards are independent contractors, which means when you are sent to run a game, you send an invoice for your work for Game Wizards to pay to you. This means having a personal company is beneficial for billing purposes, although not strictly necessary.

Game Wizards (the company) handles all of the event bookings and ticket sales, so you don't need your own website. It is however, beneficial to maintain good social media for yourself to help grow the demand for your services.

Wizards may be assigned to regular games at local businesses, or given the opportunity to take jobs as they come in.  From there it is your job to show up and provide an excellent game for the attendees.

How much would a Wizard make?

Wizards are paid most of the ticket fee for the players at their games. Game Wizards keeps a percentage in order to operate the website. This differs depending on the ticket price, but you could expect to make on average 20$ per player at the table, for a 3 hour game. Further details will be discussed with successful candidates.

How to Apply

If you are still interested in becoming a Wizard, these are the next steps:

1. Email Seth@Gamewizards.ca and tell him why you think you would be a good Wizard.

2. Arrange a game of D&D for Seth, or another Wizard to attend, this game is your interview.

3. If you are accepted, you will have to pay for, and submit a criminal background check. Seth can help guide you through this process.
